Why the Lewiston and Clarkston Valley?
Located in the Southeast corner of Washington along the Idaho border and within 40 miles of the Oregon border, Clarkston is a port city surrounded by the rolling hills, mountains and river canyons that make up this area of Washington known as the Lewis Clark Valley.
The Lewis Clark Valley is home to excellent schools, including two major universities and several colleges. There are plethora’s of recreational outdoor activities including ski resorts, white water, fly fishing, hiking, biking, backpacking, and camping. Enjoy the award-winning locally produced wines as well as the international jazz festival. With a strong economy and affordable housing, who wouldn’t want to live in the Lewiston and Clarkston Valley?
What practice opportunities are there and how are they determined?
For, current practice opportunities, visit the Opportunities section on this site. We determine our needs through annual strategic planning and constant analysis of community need. As a small, flexible organization, we can react quickly to newly identified needs.
How does the interview process work?
Once our recruiter has received your CV, they will review your qualifications and experience and contact you to discuss the opportunity in more detail. At that point, if both parties agree that the opportunity merits more exploration, then the recruiter will set up a phone interview with one or more hospital leaders. If there is still interest on both sides, the next step would be to plan for a physician tour/visit to meet with the appropriate administrators and physicians and to explore our community. We encourage the physician’s spouse to accompany him/her on this visit.
How long does it take to get a Washington license and how do I obtain one?
Typically, the process for a Washington medical license takes about three months. Our credentialing specialist will assist the physician with the application and monitor the process, keeping in close contact with the physician. For more information, you can visit the Washington State Department of Health website and select Licensing/Certification. Select your specialty to view specific licensing information.
Because our community borders the state of Idaho, the physician may also need to apply for licensure in Idaho if he/she will be needing privileges at the nearby Idaho hospital. This is typical if the physician will be providing any services in the Idaho facility
